The Minnesota Twins joined the OOSL in the 1997 round of expansion. Their two year OOSL career record stands at 136-172 for a .442 Winning Percentage. All four expansion teams of 1997 were disbanded at the end of 1998 to make way for the OOSL American Association. The Minnesota Twins finished with the highest career winning percentage of all four of those clubs. An American Association franchise now carries the name of the Minnesota Twins into the OOSL future, but there is no direct roster connection to the two franchises.

Minnesota can regale about Mike Marshall leading the OOSL American League in 1998 in Inherited Runners Scored Percentage (.189), amd Mike Mussina leading the OOSL AL in Games Finished in 1997 (56). Those, and Ken Boyer's .373 Batting Average vs Lefties in 1998 (2nd) were a few of the top bright spots in their short two-year history.
